Spend Money

It's been said that you have to spend money to make money.  When it comes to branding, logos, tables, chairs- the stuff you see, feel, interact with many folks want to cut corners- As I said you need to spend money to makes money... We've got to get the Savin Project right. It's not an easy task but step by step, little by little, day by day- this too will happen and this is our moment and WE WILL GET IT RIGHT!

Tastes- it's a funny thing. Some people have it and others, well not so much.  Strangely enough, we looked at some rental houses in North Conway- the developer was so proud of his work. He was a friend of a friend. Well  I want to be constructive here, but can you envision Kelly green carpeting, gold comforters and dark faux wood antique furniture-way too much granite with double beveled edges, massive massive rooms, and a bathroom around every corner with even more granite. The game room, a converted garage... A sea of green carpeting in every shade imaginable, and every style, but mostly a thin shag.  Abundant selection of art on the walls and surfaces-not keeping with any theme really, mostly TJMax, perhaps even Christmas Tree shops. Hey, as I said, Taste, it's a funny thing! AND SO IT GOES!

Silicone

I used to wonder why everything at Walmart, Ikea, Target, and so forth were called consumables .  It  finally dawned on me this afternoon when I was putting all the patio furniture in the shed for the winter. Nothing lasts forever,  plastic cracks, materials fades, metals corrode, items break, things get old and fall apart.   We are all in a constant state of consumption, always replacing everything we bought before so it's new and colorful and clean and fresh.  A little silicone can help to hold things together, it keeps the water out, seals the cracks, fills the holes, but at the end everything finds it's way to the dump and someone, somewhere is at The Home Depot buying something new, a replacement, a newer model, fresh, clean and colorful.  AND SO IT GOES!

End of Week- How to Get Here

It's the anticipation of driving to the NH mountains that often gets me through the week. Back in the city life is stressful and folks are continuously raping me of money in more ways than I can count, I often think of the pleasure I will feel driving north albeit just for a couple of days. I put the city, the projects, the business behind me and regain my connection to nature, and more importantly myself.  AND SO IT GOES!

Surprise me Once

Today we had to test the last bit of equipment for the SAVIN SCOOP ice cream shop in Dorchester.  To my surprise, (not really), it  didn't work. Call the repair man, run up a huge bill, get it fixed, hope for the best... AND SO IT GOES!

We removed the ceiling by the entrance of Savin Bar and Kitchen. It  looked relly good all opened up- it's sort of lofty and modern. Let's keep it, I said. Of course, as with everything, there will be a huge expense involved. We will now have to redo all the wiring as the wires are to short to go "around" the new open concept.  AND SO IT GOES!

Day 1

today i was particularly amused to see my dog Jake walk up to the waters edge at Savin Hill Beach and walk right in and lay down in the bay. He probably wanted to cool off a bit but mostly I think he wanted to relax covered by the salty cool H2O.
